BENJAMIN Netanyahu’s son has lashed out at Keir Starmer for welcoming a Palestinian State – by recognising the Falkland Islands as Argentinian in a baseless social media post.

The kneejerk claims came just days after Sir Keir’s appeasing announcement – and followed a fresh bid from Argentina to annex the British territory.

Using the Argentinian term for the British islands, Yair Netanyahu said: “I recognise the Malvinas Islands as part of Argentina!”

The troll’s comments were met with praise from supporters of Argentina‘s President Javier Milei – who took his own swipe at the UK in his speech at the United Nations on Wednesday.

A spokesperson for Milei’s political party thanked Yair for his groundless rebuke of Sir Keir, saying: “The son of the Prime Minister of Israel announces he recognises the Malvinas as Argentine. Thank you, Yair.”

Another leading party member described the brazen claim as “historic”.

It comes after Argentina‘s firebrand leader slammed British rule over the “illegally occupied” South Atlantic islands in a seething address to the world.

And he raged that his country’s claim to the Falklands was “legitimate” and “unrenounceable”.

Rambling at the UN General Assembly, Milei said: “I wish to reiterate our legitimate claim in terms of sovereignty over the Malvinas and the surrounding maritime areas that continue to be illegally occupied.

“In spite of the fact that 80 years have elapsed since the creation of the UN, colonial situations such as this one remain unresolved.

He added: “For this reason, we call on the United Kingdom to resume bilateral negotiations.”

The populist president called on Falklands locals to “vote with their feet” to become absorbed into Argentina.

A whopping 99.8 per cent of 1,513 Falklands votes chose to remain a British Overseas Territory in a landslide 2013 referendum – with just three people disagreeing.

Top Labour peer and former head of the Royal Navy, Admiral Lord Alan West, whose ship was sunk while retaking the Falklands branded the new claims as “extraordinary”.

He added that an emboldened Milei made the bombshell claims in response to weak UK foreign policy – citing Britain’s Chagos Islands “surrender” deal.

Britain is to hand over sovereignty of the British Indian Ocean Territory while paying billions of pounds to continue using the Diego Garcia base, a key military facility used by Britain and the United States.

West told the Daily Mail: “The British Government made it very clear that the sovereignty of the Falklands is not up for debate.

“They are an independent nation and under our protection. That’s it.”

He added: “I think the Argentine president mentioning this is extraordinary.

“Doing this does not help at all. Perhaps this Chagos Island business makes him think we might hand it over.”

Critics have blasted Milei’s unfounded comments about the Falklands as a distraction to divert attention away from Argentina’s ailing economy.

It comes after revelling Hamas terrorists declared victory for “the justice of our cause” after Britain recognised the State of Palestine.

Sir Keir announced the UK’s decision in a video message last week “to keep alive the possibility of peace and a two-state solution”.

The Falklands War was a conflict that tragically cost the lives of over 900 military personnel and three civilians in 1982.

The conflict saw British troops sent to defend South Atlantic territory from invading Argentine junta forces – lasting 72 days, from April to June.

It was a brief but bitter war after Argentine forces landed on the Falklands to stake a territorial claim.

Argentina said it had a right to the islands because it inherited them from the Spanish crown in the early 1800s.

It has also based its claim on the islands’ proximity to the South American mainland.

Britain says it has the right to the land based on its long-term administration of the Falklands and on the principle of self-determination for the islanders, who are almost all of British descent.
