BERLIN, March 10 (Reuters) – Former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder is assembly Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow for talks on ending the conflict in Ukraine, political information web site Politico reported, citing sources conversant in the matter.
The go to comes after talks in Istanbul with a Ukrainian politician who’s a member of the nation’s delegation for peace talks with Russia, the sources informed Politico.
Schroeder, German chancellor from 1998 to 2005, has been below the microscope over his hyperlinks to Russian firms.
He’s on the board of Russian oil big Rosneft (ROSN.MM) and is chairman of the shareholders’ committee of the corporate that’s accountable for constructing the Nord Stream 2 pipeline and which is being sanctioned by the US.
