BERLIN, March 17 (Reuters) – Invoking the autumn of the Berlin Wall, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy on Thursday urged German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to tear down what he referred to as a wall between “free and unfree” Europe and cease the struggle in Ukraine.
Talking to the Bundestag by videolink, Zelenskiy appealed to Scholz to revive freedom to Ukraine, tapping Germany’s collective reminiscence on the subject of the historic 1948-1949 Berlin Airlift and the autumn of the Berlin Wall in 1989.
