A Tibet Airways aircraft veered off the runway and caught hearth on the Chongqing airport in southwest China on Thursday morning. All 113 passengers and 9 crew members heading to the Tibetan autonomous area’s Nyingchi metropolis had been safely evacuated from the aircraft, the airline stated.
The crew of the Airbus A319-115 detected “abnormalities” and suspended the take-off, Tibet Airways stated in a press release. The jet then overran the runway and apparently caught hearth. Chinese language state media photographs confirmed flames in conjunction with the plane, with passengers working from the scene. About 40 passengers sustained minor accidents.
“All passengers and crew have been safely evacuated,” Tibet Airways stated in a press release, including that the injured passengers “have been despatched to hospital for remedy.”
Images taken after the fireplace was doused with water confirmed scorch marks protecting the nostril and one wing of the jet.
The reason for the incident was not instantly clear.
Earlier crash nonetheless a thriller
