North Korea has been testing weapons at an unprecedented tempo in 2022, together with the nation’s first demonstration of an intercontinental ballistic missile in March.
The launch comes quickly after US President Joe Biden’s five-day tour of the area, beginning in South Korea and transferring on to Japan, which concluded with Tuesday’s Quad assembly with the leaders of Japan, India and Australia.
